Setup Instructions
Step 1: Obtain ADP API Access
Contact your ADP representative to enable API access for your clients. You will need:
- • ADP client ID for each company
- • Authorization from client to access their ADP data
- • ADP Workforce Now or RUN platform (required)
Step 2: Connect in TuskCPA
Go to Settings → Integrations → Payroll → ADP. Click "Add ADP Account" and enter the client ID and authorization credentials provided by ADP.
Step 3: Configure Data Sync
Choose what data to import:
- ✓ Payroll register (wages, taxes, deductions by employee)
- ✓ Tax deposit information and dates
- ✓ Quarterly and annual tax filings
- ✓ Employee census data
- ✓ Workers' compensation information
Step 4: Map to QuickBooks/Xero
Map ADP accounts to corresponding accounts in QuickBooks or Xero for automatic journal entry creation. System suggests mappings based on account names.

Troubleshooting
Authorization Expired
ADP requires annual re-authorization. If data stops syncing, go to Integrations → ADP and click "Reauthorize" for the affected client.
Missing Payroll Data
Data imports after ADP marks payroll as "complete" (usually 1-2 hours after pay date). Check ADP to confirm payroll was processed.
Security
- OAuth 2.0: Secure authorization via ADP's OAuth protocol
- Read-Only Access: TuskCPA can only read data, never modify payroll
- Encrypted Transit: All data encrypted with TLS 1.3
- Client Authorization: Requires explicit permission from business owner
